{703} DESIGN &
DRAWING (9-12)

This course focuses on
design elements and principles to show how artists organize their ideas to
create unified works of art. The history of art, both past and present, is
also explored. Instruction and studio work are given in both two dimensional
and three-dimensional form including drawing, painting, collage, paper
construction and print making. Materials used include pencil, charcoal,
pastels, conte crayon, ink, and paint. This course provides multiple
opportunities to meet the state’s Graduation by Proficiency requirements in
CREATING and RESPONDING in art. (1 credit)

{704} COLOR THEORY &
PAINTING (9-12)
This course provides an
overview of color theory and its history. Students will explore in-depth how
the concepts of value, hue, and intensity relate to design. Through various
forms of painting, students will investigate the specific applications of
color in their studio work. This course provides multiple opportunities to
meet the state’s Graduation by Proficiency requirements in CREATING and
RESPONDING in art. (1 credit)

{705} SCULPTURE & CERAMICS
(9-12)
This course explores the
theories and concepts of three dimensional art forms through the history of
sculpture, and in-depth studio problems. Work is carried out in a variety of
techniques including; carving and modeling in the round, bas-relief, and
assemblage. Projects will be formed in clay, plaster, papier mache,
wire, and various found materials. This course provides multiple
opportunities to meet the state’s Graduation by Proficiency requirements in
CREATING and RESPONDING in art. (1 credit)
