Homebound or Hospitalized Instruction
Students whose absence due to illness or injury is anticipated to be longer than three (3) weeks may request homebound instruction. This service is initiated by a medical doctor's note certifying the reason and expected length of absence. The request should be submitted to the school counselor, the building principal and/or to the PPSD Director.
Homebound Instruction is not a substitute for IEP services. Should an IEP student require Homebound Instruction, the IEP Team will convene to make that determination and change the IEP placement and services accordingly.
This is a separate service program and is not be confused with Home Schooling requests.
