NutriKids FAQ

What is it?

  • A new computerized money and meal count system from the North Smithfield School Department & Aramark School Nutrition Services program. Why are we doing it?
  • To improve the level of service to the parents and students in North Smithfield.
  • To help us better manage student payments and meal eligibility.
  • To simplify cash handling and the pre-payment process.
  • To eliminate the need for students to carry cash to school every day.
What is the process?
  • STARTING NOVEMBER 10, 2011 - The student’s guardian can go online and add money onto their students accounts by credit card. (for a nominal fee)
  • You can watch what your student eats or put restrictions on how much money they use a day.
  • All elementary students have a ID/Meal Cards
    • The ID/Meal card is attached to their account that they will use to purchase their meals
    • Students will continue to order their meal of choice in the morning.
    • Students can pay for that day’s meal or add money to their account for future meals in the morning.

How can you help?

  • To ensure your student is credited correctly:
  • Keep money on your students account, avoiding the need to handle money daily.
  • Elementary Students
    • All payments must be sent in an envelope with your child’s name & grade on the outside.
  • Review the Negative Balance Policy

Thank you for your help with implementing this new system.
