NORTH SMITHFIELD PTO

Our mission is to act as a support system to the town's elementary schools to enrich the lives of the children both culturally and socially. The North Smithfield PTO is a non-profit, volunteer organization which provides activities which would not otherwise be provided within the confines of the school budget.

The PTO relies on volunteers to coordinate and oversee many events throughout the year. Funding for the enrichment programs is acquired via one fundraising event, held at the beginning of the school year. Those funds are then used to support over 20 events throughout the year. Some of the presenters for the 2003-2004 school year include the Audobon Society, Paulette Morin, Len Cabral, Lyn Dillies, Mark Shepard and the Gerwick Puppets. It is important to note that the PTO works with the educators and administrators to select programs that tie into the curriculum and that are appropriate for each grade level.

March 30
Girls' Life Night — At Halliwell Gym, 7:00pm. Life nights are presented by Women and Infants Hospital.

April 1
Boys' Life Night — At Halliwell Gym, 7:00pm.

April 24
Boys' Night Out — "Come As You Are" theme, At the NS High School Cafeteria, 6:00pm–9:00pm. Photographer is Laprade Studio.

May 15
Girls' Night Out — "Picture Perfect" theme, At the NS High School Gym, 6:00pm–9:00pm. Photographer is Laprade Studio.
