Use of Facilities - Tenant User Liability Insurance Program (TULIP)
Tenant User Liability Insurance Program {TULIP}
Requests to use school department facilities/premises have become an increasingly common occurrence for many school districts throughout the country. Property and personal liability losses originating from these activities can be outside our control as a school district if not properly addressed. The result could be an increase in property and liability insurance, claims, and taxes to fund such losses or insurance increases.
The school district’s property and liability insurer, the Rhode Island Interlocal Risk Management Trust [better known in Rhode Island as The TRUST] offers to its member districts a TULIP program -Tenant User Liability Insurance Program - through Entertainment Brokers International (EBI).
The objective is to provide a low-cost insurance policy that protects both the “Tenant User”/applicant and school district, a TRUST member. The policy applies to bodily injury or property damage arising out of the use of our premises by the Tenant Users/applicant.
We have included information for you to learn more about the program as well as “How-To” information for you in the event you need to arrange Liability Insurance for use of our facilities.
The new, streamlined TULIP program can be accessed independently by you as a third party via a web site where you can purchase the coverage directly using a credit card.
It is important to note that the third party “How-To” requires an ID code to access the web site in order to purchase TULIP coverage. North Smithfield School Department has been assigned this code which should be provided you as a third party seeking quotes for a TULIP policy. North Smithfield School Department’s assigned code is as follows:
TULIP Entity ID Code: 0501-A74
